What is Skin Needling?
Skin needling is a minimally-invasive non-surgical and non-ablative procedure for facial rejuvenation that involves the use of a micro–needling device to create a controlled skin At Angel Touch We only use the Worlds Leading Brand – Dermapen, used by Doctors and Skin Specialists around the world.
Dermapen treatments are designed to create a safe healing response within the body to ignite natural collagen and elastin production from within the skin, without harsh side effects and downtime, along with repairing the surface layers to result in healthier skin; looking brighter, tighter, more even toned, refined pores, smoother and reduced wrinkles.
Your face, lip area, eye area, ears, neck, chest and hands are all treated with pinpoint precision to promote rapid lifting, firming and toning of facial features and contours.
What’s more, the micro-channels allow your skin to carry up to 80% more active ingredients which dive deep into your skin to feed and be absorbed by the underlying cells.
You’ll see results in just one session.

We can also treat Pigmentation. Unlike some Laser treatments, Dermapen removes the risk of heat injury and hypopigmentation risks, whilst promoting optimised cell function. This makes it a suitable procedure for any patient affected by melasma and with a predisposition to hyperpigmentation. Treatment is also suitable on all Fitzpatrick Skin Types and ethnicities. Dermapen treatments have also been found to be effective on Hypopigmentation Vitiligo treatments.
How does the procedure work?
Your therapist will use a skin needling device to administer the treatment. This specialist device is called the Dermapen, which is glided over the surface of your skin to create ‘micro-injuries’ in the dermis.
Is Skin Needling Painful?
This completely comes down to your individual pain tolerance and what we are treating you for. We are happy to have the most advanced skin needling device in the world that have designed the treatment to be the most comfortable possible for the patient with the most optimal results. For collagen induction for scarring and deep lines it can feel almost like a scratching feeling but for lighter treatments it can be compared to microdermabrasion. The actually needling part of the treatment is no more than 7 minutes for the face so it is completely bearable if you are sensitive.
What can be expected post-treatment?
There are no serious side effects which come as a direct result of skin needling. However, acne-prone patients can sometimes go through episodes of breakout post-treatment. Also, patients may experience a brief inflammatory reaction of skin in the aftermath of the treatment, however it does fade significantly within 12-24 hours. It’s advised that only medical grade makeup should be worn by patients to assist with the healing in the days after treatment as well. We recommend Dermapen Foundation or Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics as it is 100% pure minerals.
How many treatments will I need?
As a general guide only we recommend the following:
Rejuvenation: 4-6 treatments, 4-8 weeks apart
Acne scarring: 6 treatments, 6-8 weeks apart
Pigmentation: 6-8 treatments, 4 weeks apart
Will I need to use Homecare?
Absolutely! To reach the results you are after and the results Dermapen promises, it is imperative that you follow the recommended Homecare routine given to you during your consultation. We recommend Dermapen DP Dermaceuticals as it is designed to work with the treatments for your specific skin concern. An SPF daily is a non-negotiable with skin needling.
